Anne Harrington, PhD

Anne Harrington specializes in the history of psychiatry, neuroscience, and the other mind sciences. She received her PhD in the history of science from Oxford University in 1985, and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine in London, and the University of Freiburg in Germany. She codirected the Harvard University Mind Brain Behavior Initiative for six years and served as consultant to the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on mind-body interactions. She is the author of Medicine, Mind and the Double Brain, Reenchanted Science, and the forthcoming Stories Under the Skin: Mind-Body Medicine in America.
