Building Bridges of Integration for Traditional Chinese Medicine gathers some of the most respected scholars, teachers, practitioners, authors, and institutions to exchange research, knowledge, and experience in all areas of TCM: prevention, treatment, research, philosophy, theory, and integration with Western modalities.

Professor Wang graduated from Hubei Medical College in 1954. He is China's leading expert on the treatment of liver diseases. For the past 52 years, he has engaged in patient care, clinical research and academic teaching in this area. Professor Wang has trained more than 100 clinicians, medical doctors, PhD and undergraduate students who now form the backbone of China's medical vanguard in the prevention and treatment of liver diseases. Since the 1970s, he has served as director of the Liver Institute of Hubei College of TCM. His extensive research on treating liver diseases with Chinese medicine has helped this institution become China's leading research center for liver diseases.

Professor Wang also founded the Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine on Liver Diseases, China's most influential publication on integrative treatment of liver diseases. His major textbooks include Laboratory Diagnosis of Hepatitis in Integrative Medicine, and Hepatology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. His book, Chinese Medicine for the Prevention of Liver and Gall Diseases has won the prestigious Li-Fu Award of Traditional Medicine in Taiwan. Recently he was elected chairman of the Specialty Committee of Liver Disease of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS).
